Kingston Ladies Continue to Impress

Kingston University women’s football team have continued their resurgence this season with another impressive league win.

Following a disappointing start to the season, which saw the ladies lose 2-1 to Portsmouth, they haven’t looked back. With their latest victory, a 9-0 win over the University of Sussex, they have cemented their place at the top of league.

Janea Minar, the ladies team captain, said: “We couldn't have asked for a better win against this team and have secured our position at the top.”

Miss Minar was impressed with the whole team’s performance and added: “Our goals come from every position on the field, from our striker to our centre back and a 9-0 win just proves how much of a goal-scoring team we are.”

First-half dominance was the key to Kingston ladies' supremacy with seven of the nine goals coming within the first period. Setareh Kemali’s performance, managing to score five of the nine goals herself, was indicative of the whole team’s spirit.

This impressive victory suggests that this season could be a successful one for Kingston ladies and Miss Minars insisted: “Our ultimate goal this year is to win the league, we need to keep working hard and keep scoring goals.”
