Father Christmas and Darth Vader will be switching on the Christmas lights in Kingston this year.

The decorations will be turned on at 6pm on Thursday November 19th, with free activities from 3:30pm onwards. 

RiverOnline will be outside Borders in the Market Place ready to take photos of students enjoying some Christmas cheer. 

Father Christmas will be joined by the Pirate from the Rose Theatre's production of Treasure Island in the town centre.

While over at the Bentall Centre, Darth Vader will be accompanied by C3PO, Storm Troopers and Chewbacca.
