Dominic Raab and the Conservatives hold Esher and Walton

The Surrey constituency of Esher & Walton was held by the Conservatives, with Dominic Raab the New MP taking over from Ian Taylor, the representative since 1987.
The constituency has been a Conservative stronghold since its creation in 1950.
Mr Raab said he was eager to encourage the traditional values of the Conservatives, saying “we’re about freedom, enterprise and creativity”.
He said: “We want to abolish stamp duty for first time buyers and provide as much bespoke training and apprenticeship opportunity as possible. University doesn’t have to be the only option, Surrey is the perfect place for people to grow and develop."
His main priority will be primary and secondary education, He said: “We want to give parents, faith groups and local organisations the chance to set up publically funded, locally managed schools, to give them an opportunity to create choice for their children.”
Mr Raab moved to the constituency as soon as he was selected, and intends to continue to live there throughout his term.
He says “I want to serve every corner of the constituency, and the only way I can do that is if I am here”.
