Treasure Hunt in Kingston

Kingston can feel like a really small place. Nothing much changes except the colours of the leaves on the trees and the latest fashions. Sure, it's nice to hang by the riverside but who wants to look at an endless flow of running water (okay, I wouldn’t mind but let’s not get off the track here).

During the week it’s study town; at the weekend it's invaded by shoppers who return home at night and say, “Today we went shopping in London!”

It’s just so tempting to leave the town, take the train and go smell the roses in Kew; or walk around Mayfair pretending to be rich. But what if you don’t have the money and the time or if you are stuck in Kingston to baby-sit your module books?

Don’t look any further. Here at Mouth we think we have the perfect remedy:

What if we removed the names from the all-too familiar streets and painted them in tones of vintage cartoon mysteries?

What if the sights and sounds you know by heart were to be changed into cryptic messages waiting to be decoded by your cunning genius?

What if we transformed Kingston into the set of an intense 1940s film noir?

Okay, we’re getting a bit over our heads here…

Let’s just say we prepared a treasure hunt around Kingston town centre. It might not revolutionise the way you see the old place but it will take you off your daily routine and perhaps even inspire you to create your own map and story.

It’s time to grab the brand new issue of Mouth magazine, wander through town and do something you haven’t done in a while. This, we leave to you.
