Blonde Ambition

Jessica Rowe hopes KU will help her hit the big timeGrowing up in sleepy Shrewsbury, Jessica Rowe never really took her dreams of becoming a star seriously. The 3rd year Dance and Drama student only started to pursued her ambitions from college.

After starting her own theatre company and showing off her talents locally, she decided to study at Kingston in a bid to make it big.

It now appears that her talents are not only to be found on stage, as the bubbly 23 year old has caught the eye of numerous photographers, allowing her to add 'successful model' to her resume.

At a free photo shoot in Birmingham just three weeks ago Jessica was encouraged by the photographer to put her pictures up onto Model Mayhem, a website for aspiring models.  To her surprise she has already bagged herself a spot shooting a calendar at the o2 arena alongside other girls next month.

She said: “ I just thought I would give it a go, and I didn’t really think much of it. I started to get enquiries and now I have a few things on the go.”

As well as appearing in a calendar Jessica was contacted by Beautiful Promotions, who now list her as a model on their website.

Despite her model potential, Jessica said: "I wouldn't exactly be comfortable saying I was pretty, I'm happy with myself but wouldn't think I'm anything special. I have a lot of friends and family around me who do believe I am."

Jess soaking up some sunJessica hopes that any work she obtains will help her with her acting career. She said: “ Acting in the West End is what I ultimately want to do, but this came about by chance really."

Taking inspiration from Indina Menzel following her success starring in Wicked, Jessica said: "She is so well known and has had such a fantastic career, I aspire to be like her and to have a career like that is my dream."

Despite landing a modelling role without much effort, modest Jessica is reluctant to take it all too seriously.  She says: “I tend to live in the moment, when the photographers approached me it was a nice suprise, but we just will see what happens.”
