Fashion bargains leave chic shoppers in a frenzy

Designer and vintage bargains from the wardrobes of 20 fashionistas were up for grabs at a top fashion event earlier this month.
Buy My Wardrobe is the brain child of fashion designer and Young Achiever of the Year 2004, Kal Di Paola.
Kal who believes ‘everyone’s hobby is fashion’ said: “These are all items that are loved none of them are unwanted. It’s a great opportunity for networking and picking up the latest trends at a fantastic price”.
The event was held at the exclusive Supper Club, Notting Hill where VIP ticket holders were treated to champagne, manicures and the opportunity to buy first.
Some of the bargains included a Chanel necklace on sale for £180 and a vintage Yves Saint Lauren handbag for £170.
Customer Selina Doran, 23, who has been to two of the previous six events, said: “You can get a real bargain and everybody is so friendly. I got this amazing vintage bracelet for just £5.”
Bargain hunters were also given the opportunity to be entered into a draw to win a wardrobe consultation and make over with celebrity stylist Nicky Hambleton-Jones.
The fashion recycling event, which first took place in March 2008, has played host to a wide range of wardrobe mistresses from fashion PR, journalism and stylists.
Retail guru Mary Portas, who Living and Giving shop opened on Westbourne Grove this Saturday, was selling vintage items including Ray Ban sunglasses.
The Queen of Shops was also collecting unwanted clothes from ticket holders for her new store with proceeds going to Save the Children.
The next event is due to take place in the late summer and promises more bargains then your local car boot.
