THIS WEEK'S PREDICTIONS Andy
Swansea 2 – 1 Fulham Sheffield United 2- 1 Hull West Ham 2 – 0 Middlesbrough Blackburn 2 - 1 Coventry Watford 0 - 3 Chelsea Everton 1 – 0 Aston Villa Derby 0 - 2 Manchester United Arsenal 1 – 0 Cardiff I fancy a couple of upsets this weekend. Swansea are a good side and on great form at the moment while Fulham have really struggled away from home. I also fancy Sheffield United at home to end Hull’s cup dreams. The big boys should be fine though - I don’t see United or Chelsea struggling against Watford or Derby while Arsenal will have enough to get past Cardiff. This could potentially set up a mouth watering quarter final tie. John Ellul Swansea 5 – 0 Fulham Sheffield United 2 - 4 Hull West Ham 7 (seven) – 3 Middlesbrough Blackburn 0 - 0 Coventry Watford 2 - 5 Chelsea Everton 0 – 5 Aston Villa Derby 4 - 4 Manchester United Arsenal 0 – 2 Cardiff West Ham are on fire and I reckon they’ll be scoring goals from all angles this weekend against Middlesbrough. United’s defence is rubbish so I’m expecting a high scoring game at Pride Park while Villa ooze class so I’m expecting them to batter Everton. I don’t know anything about Swansea, to be honest, but I love their kit so I expect them to beat Fulham comfortably. Come on you Toffees! Chris Swansea City 1 - 2 Fulham Sheffield United 2 – 2 Hull West Ham 2 - 0 Middlesbrough Blackburn 2 - 1 Coventry Watford 1 – 3 Chelsea Everton 2 - 3 Aston Villa Derby 0 – 2 Man Utd Arsenal 1 - 1 Cardiff I expect Chelsea, Man Utd and West Ham to win by comfortable scorelines, but, the cup always brings unexpected results. It will be interesting to see Chelsea’s response after Scolari’s sacking early this week, but count on the strength and unity of John Terry and Frank Lampard to pick the side up and take the Blues through to the next round. United will continue their winning streak of eight games on the trot. They look unstoppable in all competitions. I’m expecting a thriller at Goodison Park as Everton, on the back of their 3-0 victory at home to Bolton last Saturday, face unlikely title challengers Villa. Key players may be rested after Wednesday night’s international action. John Silcox Swansea 1– 2 Fulham Sheffield United 1 – 0 Hull West Ham 2 – 0 Middlesbrough Blackburn 3 – 1Coventry Watford 0 – 2 Chelsea Everton 2 – 2 Aston Villa Derby 0 – 3 Manchester United Arsenal 3 – 2 Cardiff I think the big surprise this weekend will be Sheffield United. Hull are concentrating on surviving in the Premier League so I don’t think that they’ll want to take to many chances in the cup. United will be looking to bounce back from their derby defeat last weekend and have had an impressive run since the New Year, winning five out of their last eight games. Everton-Aston Villa game would be my match of the week and I expect a fast, strong and exciting game. It could go either way, but I think the two teams will match each other fairly come the final whistle. The Red Devils are unstoppable at the moment so I expect at whitewash at Pride Park.
